Responsible as a classroom teacher in a lead position for planning and execution of lessons, maintaining proper learning environment, supervision of classroom assistants, keeping parents apprised of children’s' progress, handling emergencies, following a preferred curriculum as stated by the School Director, and maintaining a high level of academic standards to meet the needs of each individual child. Responsible for providing a caring and loving atmosphere for the children.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school graduate.
Bachelor's degree in education, early childhood or related field preferred.
Successful completion of the CDA requirement or equivalency desired.
Successful completion of DCFS Screening (fingerprint, background check, etc.).
Successful completion of DCFS Child Care Certification program (40 hours) and any ongoing annual required training.
Successful completion of the 2(two) mandatory diocesan courses through Shield the Vulnerable.
One year experience in an early childhood teaching position desired.
Ability to deal with others with tact, sensitivity and in confidence.
Ability and enthusiasm to interact with young children.
Ability to use initiative, take instructions and carry them out effectively.
Ability to perform the physical demands of being a preschool teacher.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Serves as assistant to the Lead Teacher. Responsible for the care of infant, toddler, and/or preschool age children in a structured environment, assisting the teacher throughout the working shift in providing this care. Functions includes, but are not limited to: caring for children’s belongings, assisting in cleaning and toileting children, housekeeping, lunch distribution, assisting with organized learning and recreational activities. Responsible for providing a caring and loving atmosphere for the children.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School graduate.
AA degree in secretarial science or equivalent experience preferred.
Two years experience in a responsible secretarial or office management position preferred.
Proficiency in Personal Computer operation and experience with Microsoft Office suite of professional software required.
Proficiency in the use of general office equipment required.
Successful completion of DCFS Child Care Certification program (40 hours) and any ongoing annual required training.
Successful completion of the 2(two) mandatory diocesan courses through Shield the Vulnerable.
Knowledge of basic bookkeeping preferred.
Some knowledge of early childhood preferred.
Ability to function independently and handle multiple activities/projects effectively required.
Ability to deal with others with tact, sensitivity and in confidence is required.
Ability to function with frequent interruptions and under pressure is required.
Ability to utilize initiative and effective time management.
Successful completion of the DCFS screening process.
Ability to function in a classroom when necessary.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
